Oedipus the King Research Paper

Oedipus the King Research PaperOedipus the King Research Paper: The Sequel. If you have read this so far, congratulations! It took a while for me to get through this piece, but I really feel it's worth your time.In September, I began my search for a complete description of the story's events. Because the first part has been so well documented, I will focus on those events in the second part of the story. At first, it appeared as if the girl was getting her wish granted. A new candle lit the stone courtyard as Eurydice entered the temple to pay her respects. As she opened the small door, she saw the Eumenides in their majestic form and an owl. Eurydice approached, stopping in front of the woman to ask 'You must not walk alone. The darkness still holds the gods prisoner.'The Queen of the Nymphs noticed Eurydice entering the temple and shouted 'What do you want? Bring me the spirit of Dionysus!'Eurydice answered 'This goddess is not here right now, I must go to the firstborn.' She turned and entered the temple, throwing the other door shut behind her.As Eurydice looked at the astrologer's daughter, a bright light flashed from the moon. The Queen of the Nymphs was enraged at Eurydice's curse upon the goddess. She ran up to the deity and screamed, 'I've decided you will help me raise the daughter of the sun and the god! 'She took up Eurydice and threw her off the cliff. The goddess remained in the cave with the shadowed moon and went into a trance. The moon was banished and she returned to the temple with the other goddesses to celebrate their victory over the goddess of the night.
